Ajit Pawar’s plane crash is not an accident… This is a well-planned conspiracy, a big claim in zero FIR; What is the truth after all?

Ajit Pawar Death Conspiracy Or Accident: A zero FIR lodged in Bengaluru claimed that there was a major criminal conspiracy behind the plane crash that took place near Baramati Airport in Maharashtra on January 28, 2026, in which the then Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and four others were killed. NCP(SP) MLA Rohit Rajendra Pawar had lodged the complaint at High Grounds police station on March 23. It said that the crash was the result of a well-planned conspiracy to eliminate Ajit Pawar. In this, an attempt has been made to make all the people responsible for this crime accused.

High Grounds Police has registered an FIR under sections 61, 103, 105, 106, 125, 238, and 336(2) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). Police said that there was a delay in filing the complaint because the complainant had complained to different police stations in Maharashtra, where his complaint was not accepted, after which he lodged a zero FIR in Bengaluru.

What is the claim in the complaint?

According to the complaint, the crash occurred between 8.43 am and 8.45 am when the Bombardier Learjet 45 aircraft, registration VT-SSK, operated by VSR Ventures Pvt Ltd, crashed while on its way to Baramati from Mumbai. All five people on board the plane died. The FIR registered under Section 173 (1) of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, states that despite visiting Marine Drive Police Station on February 25 and Baramati Police Station on February 26, no FIR was registered, while Pune CID said that it is investigating only from the Accidental Death Report angle.

Demand raised for criminal investigation

The complainant has sought a full criminal investigation, separate from the technical investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), alleging that the crash was the result of a deliberate conspiracy to eliminate Ajit Pawar. The FIR cites the results of the safety audit of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on 24 February 2026. In which the VSR aircraft was reportedly found to be negligent and unusable, due to which it was grounded. It alleges that the aircraft VT-SSK was operated in violation of safety standards, having flown approximately 4,915 hours, which is close to the required engine overhaul limit of 5,000 hours.

Allegation of manipulation in maintenance records

The complaint further claims that the current flight hours may exceed 8 thousand, combined with under-reporting in official logbooks, falsification of maintenance records and continued use of an unsafe aircraft. Questions have also been raised about the weather conditions at the time of landing. While a flying training organization estimated the visibility at 3 thousand metres, Pune METAR data reportedly showed around 2 thousand meters with haze and satellite imagery showed fog patches. Under visual flight rules, landing is not permitted with visibility less than 5 kilometers, yet clearance was reportedly granted.

The complaint also raised concerns about the DGCA certification records, stating that the aircraft’s airworthiness certificate was issued on December 16, 2021, while its registration certificate was issued on December 27, 2022, which is against the standard procedure.

Chief pilot broke rules in 2010 and 2017

Light has been thrown on the behavior and background of Chief Pilot Sumit Kapoor. The complaint states that he had broken the rules related to drinking alcohol in 2010 and 2017, due to which the DGCA had suspended him for three years and due to alcohol problems, he had stopped advanced Learjet training in the US. Despite this, he was given the job of operating the flight.

Crew members changed at the last minute

It is being told that the previously decided crew was changed at the last minute. VSR claims initial crews arrived late due to traffic. In the complaint, this clarification has been termed as false and lack of evidence has been stated to support it. It also alleges that Kapoor could have been subjected to pressure due to his financial weakness and past record and claims that a life insurance policy was recently taken out in his name.

Change made in travel plan also?

Apart from this, other irregularities mentioned include last minute changes in Ajit Pawar’s travel plan. Who had initially planned to travel by road on January 27 but stayed in Mumbai only. The flight was about 70 minutes late from its scheduled departure of 7 am. The complaint also cites operational errors during landing, including switching from the initially requested runway 29 to runway 11 shortly before landing and not attempting a go-around despite a failed first approach. In the last recorded moments the co-pilot reportedly said, ‘Oh shit, oh shit,’ While the chief pilot remained silent, no distress call or emergency response was recorded.
