This additional fee has been implemented on bookings made from today i.e. March 15. Let us tell you that before this, Air India and Indigo airlines have already taken the decision to impose fuel surcharge, after which now Akasa Air has also taken this decision.
According to Akasa Air, ATF i.e. jet fuel prices have increased significantly recently. This increase is mainly due to increasing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which has affected the global energy market. An Akasa Air spokesperson said that fuel constitutes a major component of an airline’s total expenses, so increasing its price impacts the costs of the entire aviation sector.
