Akbarpur Naveen Mandi administration’s negligence made breathing difficult

Green market, market full of garbage:

Ambedkar Nagar.

on government papers “Green Market, Clean Market” If you want to see the ground reality of the department raising the slogan, then you can go to Akbarpur Naveen Mandi. This market seems to be completely defying its slogan. The condition of the market has always been worse, but the recent light rain has made the situation hellish. Now both walking and breathing have become difficult for the people coming here.

Office shines, businessmen and customers drown in stench

The view inside the new market place Akbarpur complex is very surprising. Except for the administrative office area—where the officers sit—the rest of the complex has become a heap of filth.

Rotting Vegetables and Fruits: Where there is maximum gathering of traders and customers, potatoes, tomatoes and other seasonal vegetables are rotting in the streets and spreading a terrible stench.

Pile of rotten fruits: There are heaps of remains of rotten fruits in many corners and even in the middle of the road, the foul smell emanating from them has made life miserable for the people.

Responsible people do not come out of AC rooms

The biggest anger is regarding the attitude of the responsible officials of the market. Local people and traders say that the Mandi Secretary and inspectors neither have time nor care to come out of their air-conditioned (AC) rooms and see this plight.

Traders’ pain: “Officials are not concerned with the convenience of the public. Their salaries come on time every month; it does not matter to them whether the market turns into hell or becomes the center of an epidemic.” At present, no businessman could muster the courage to speak in front of the camera due to fear of action by the authorities.

Will action be taken or will compulsion prevail over people?

Due to this terrible filth, the risk of spread of infectious diseases has not only increased in Naveen Mandi, but the number of customers coming here is also being affected. Now it remains to be seen whether the higher authorities take cognizance of this gross negligence or the traders and the general public will be forced to work amidst the rot and stench.
