Akhilesh got angry as soon as FIR was lodged in Ram temple offering case, made serious allegation of destroying evidence.

The case of theft of offerings from the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh has now taken on huge political significance. After the FIR was registered by the police in this matter, Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has directly cornered the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. Akhilesh Yadav has raised serious questions on the intentions of the government regarding this entire incident and has alleged that the script to save the real culprits had already been prepared.

In fact, the Ayodhya administration was on the back foot ever since complaints of misappropriation and theft of donations offered by devotees in the Ram temple came to light. Finally, FIR has been officially registered in this matter. But the opposition is calling this action just a sham. Raising this issue on social media, the SP chief taunted that under BJP rule, ‘small fish’ are always punished, while the big influential people get away cleanly.

‘Hang the bud, pardon the branches’ – Akhilesh Yadav’s sharp taunt

Akhilesh Yadav has written a very aggressive post on his official Facebook page. Questioning the functioning of the government, he wrote, “This tableau of injustice will be seen under BJP rule, Fungi will be hanged, branches will be forgiven!” The SP chief clearly indicates that in this big scam, some small employee or lower level person will be made the scapegoat, while the police will never reach the big faces behind this whole game.

Accusation of destroying evidence in the name of SIT investigation

Pointing fingers at the delay in the case and the methods of investigation, Akhilesh Yadav put the government in the dock in the name of the public. He said that there is discussion among the public that all the important evidence might have been cleaned up in the name of first SIT investigation. After this it would have been decided which big fishes should be safely taken out of this entire scam and who should be implicated in this matter.

In fact, the opposition believes that transparent action should have been taken immediately in such a sensitive matter. Akhilesh further wrote in his post that it seems as if a prepared report was given to the SIT even before starting the investigation and the officials proceeded with their investigation accordingly. That is, the investigation had already been concluded and the formalities of the FIR were completed later.

Questions raised on security and order in Ayodhya

Since the inauguration of Ram Temple, lakhs of devotees from India and abroad are coming here every day for darshan. In such a situation, theft of offerings from inside the temple premises raises serious questions not only on the security arrangements but also on the management of the temple trust. According to the local people, despite such tight security arrangements in the temple premises, if such misappropriation has taken place, then the involvement of some inside syndicate cannot be ruled out. At present the police is claiming to investigate the matter in depth, but political rhetoric has completely heated up the matter.
