Assembly elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2027. Samajwadi Party has been out of power for 10 consecutive years and is trying to come back to power. In the Lok Sabha elections held in the year 2024, the party got the lead in Uttar Pradesh. Now, the party wants to capitalize on this success in the assembly elections also. For this reason, Samajwadi Party has made a deal with I-PAC, a consultancy firm that prepares election strategy.
I-Pack is the same company, whose co-founder is Prashant Kishore. Prashant Kishor is now the leader of Jan Suraj Party. Most of the I-PACK team is currently busy with the West Bengal Assembly elections, so the work in UP will start after the West Bengal elections.

For which parties has I-PAC worked?
In the year 2014, I-PAC under the leadership of Prashant Kishore had prepared the election strategy for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Later, Prashant Kishore’s rift with BJP started. After the year 2023, he became active in alternative politics. I-PAC has also worked for TMC, DMK, AAP and JDU.
What advice has Samajwadi Party received?
During the budget session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav had introduced the I-PAC representative to the MLAs. Efforts are being made to give more emphasis on social media. MLAs were instructed to highlight development and welfare work of their constituency on social media, minimize criticism of opponents and avoid AI generated posts.

What will be the function of I-PACK?
I-PACK will handle social media campaigns, tackle fake news and prepare detailed plans at the state, district and assembly levels. The firm aims to set the narrative through social media and campaign in favor of the party at the grassroots level.
When will the campaigning start?
I-PAC is currently working for TMC in Bengal. The election campaign in UP will start after the Bengal elections. Vinesh Chandel will be the head of the UP team. He is the director of I-PAC. The UP team will work under his direction. Vinesh Chandel will take charge of the Uttar Pradesh campaign.

How have been the past elections for Samajwadi Party?
Samajwadi Party came to power in the 2012 assembly elections by winning 224 seats. The party’s vote share was 29.13 percent. In the year 2017, Samajwadi Party lost, coming down to 47 seats. In the year 2022-22, it got 111 votes and got 32 percent vote share but remained out of power. BJP is winning twice consecutively.
