New Delhi. In the winter session of Parliament, Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Tuesday introduced the ‘Vikas Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)’ i.e. VB-Ji Ram-Ji Bill in the Lok Sabha. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan introduced a bill to change the name of MNREGA in the Lok Sabha. All the opposition parties including Congress created a ruckus over the removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the scheme. Due to the uproar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings till 2 pm. In the same sequence, Akhilesh Yadav has also expressed his displeasure by posting an X on this bill brought by the government.

Akhilesh said that ‘those who do not have a soul neither believe in Mahatma nor in God. How can negative people, whose every word is false, accept the revered Mahatma Gandhiji, who fought for truth throughout his life? This is a conflict between those who ‘use truth’ versus those who ‘misuse falsehood’. Those who considered ‘Ram’s name’ as power and lied about bringing Ram Rajya by erasing his name, are now on the path of continuous decline.

Akhilesh Yadav said that ‘by increasing the expenditure burden on the states in MNREGA, the anti-poor BJP people actually want to destroy this rural livelihood scheme from within. BJP has already said that they consider it a memorial. Displeased with this, the countrymen are asking whether ‘someone’ wants to preserve the word Mahatma for himself.
