Akhilesh Yadav’s attack on smart meters in UP, said- ‘The public has become ‘consumer’ from ‘consumer’.

Lucknow, 6 April. Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the BJP government over the power failure despite having money in the smart prepaid electricity meter account. He said that due to the policies of the government, a new category called ‘prepaid victims’ has arisen in Uttar Pradesh. Taking to social media, Akhilesh Yadav said that consumers who have already paid for electricity are also facing power cuts and technical problems due to smart meter glitches.

  • ‘When power companies get the money already…’

Akhilesh Yadav raised the question that when the power companies already get the money, then why are the general public being harassed. He alleged that due to lack of coordination or collusion between the power companies and the government, the problems of common consumers are not being resolved on time. Due to this, people are forced to complain repeatedly and make rounds of offices.

  • ‘The public has become ‘consumer’ from ‘consumer’.

The SP President said that under the BJP government, people have become ‘consumers’ from ‘consumers’, who are having to bear the brunt of the shortcomings of the policies. Referring to ‘PDA’ (Victims, Dalits, Minorities), he said that the number of affected people is continuously increasing and now ‘Prepaid Victims’ have also joined it. Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the people of the state want change and the situation will change in the coming times. He assured that if his government is formed, the electricity system will be made more transparent, accountable and in the interest of consumers, so that people can get relief.
