Akhilesh Yadav’s big bet, after returning to power, women will get 40 thousand rupees every year
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has played a big card on the election board from the stage of ‘Murti Devi-Malti Devi Mahila Samman Samaroh’ organized in Lucknow. Trying to woo half the population in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh announced that if Samajwadi Party government is formed in the state, then women will be given financial assistance of Rs 40 thousand every year. Along with Akhilesh, Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav was also present in this program held in the capital on Sunday, where both of them fiercely attacked the present government on the issue of law and order and ‘propaganda’.
In fact, Akhilesh Yadav made it clear that when his government comes to power, not only will the old ‘Samajwadi Pension’ scheme be reinstated, but a new and effective scheme for women by the name of ‘Nari Samridhi Samman Yojana’ will also be implemented. He reminded that earlier his government used to give pension of Rs 500 per month, but now it will be presented in a new style with more respect amount. This statement of the former Chief Minister has come at a time when efforts to settle political equations have intensified in the state.
Sharp attack on the film ‘Dhurandhar’ and BJP
During the program, not only the government policies but also the recently released film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ was the target of Akhilesh Yadav. Without taking the name of the film, he made serious allegations against BJP and said that now the ruling party is paying money to get films made as per its own wish. It is being told that in this film released on March 19, there is a character named ‘Atif Ahmed’, whose resemblance has been shown to be similar to mafia Atiq Ahmed.
Akhilesh took a jibe at this and said that all this is just political propaganda to divert the public’s attention from the real issues. Leaders of SP and Congress also believe that such films are being made for a special purpose. Akhilesh also alleged that the present government had stopped all his schemes which honored the talents of the state, such as ‘Yash Bharti’ award, through which celebrities who had brought fame in the country and abroad were honored.
Dimple’s tough questions on the safety of half the population
MP Dimple Yadav, who was present on the stage, also left no stone unturned to corner the government. Getting emotional on the issue of women’s safety, he said that daughters are not feeling safe in today’s ‘new India’. Referring to the much talked about Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand, Dimple said that this case has given deep wounds to the society. According to him, when there is an attempt to suppress injustice, the pain increases.
Dimple bluntly said that if our daughters remain scared, then the claims of progress of the country are hollow. She alleged that the government is trying to hide the ground reality, while women are feeling unsafe at every step. Many women were also honored during the ceremony, which SP presented by linking it to women’s self-respect.
Socialist pension and future strategy
Sharing his future plans in detail, Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Pension Scheme was not just a financial help but the trust of women. He promised that under the new scheme, Rs 40 thousand will be directly transferred to the accounts of women annually. Political experts believe that this ’40 thousand bet’ of Akhilesh is part of a larger strategy to directly connect rural and middle class women with the party.
Overall, this program in Lucknow appeared to be completely in election mode. On one hand, Akhilesh made a big promise of financial help, while on the other hand, by putting the government in the dock on the issue of films and security, it became clear that the politics of UP is going to get even more heated in the coming days. Now it remains to be seen how the public takes these promises of Akhilesh and these attacks on the government.
