Akshay Kumar praised Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’
New Delhi. Veteran Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently shared his views on Ranveer Singh’s new film ‘Dhurandhar’. He named it as the Angry Young Man of the industry, stating that audience preferences change every two years, but he never feels jealous of anyone.
Appreciation of Dhurandhar and Ranveer Singh
Akshay Kumar told in India Today Conclave that ‘Dhurandhar’ is a powerful action film, in which Ranveer Singh has attracted the audience with his energy and intense action scenes. He said, “Ranveer plays the angry young man in this film, and it’s always great to see his performance. There’s no feeling of jealousy seeing the success of other actors.”

He also told that sometimes gory films are popular, while sometimes horror-comedy films, like Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree’, are very much liked by the audience. Akshay said that it cannot be said which film will be successful.
Statement on becoming part of Lyari gang
When Akshay was asked whether he wanted to be a part of the Liari gang of ‘Dhurandhar’, he said that director Aditya Dhar never thought about it.
Emphasis on hard work instead of jealousy
Akshay clarified that there are 15-20 big actors in the industry and around 180 films are made every year. It is natural to watch a film or think “I wish I had done this film”, but there is no question of jealousy. He believes, “Be like water, give up the thought of being on top. Whatever is meant to happen, happens.”
Bhoot Bangla is going to explode
Akshay also shared that he is gearing up for his new horror-comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’, directed by Priyadarshan. The film will also star Tabu, Vamika Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav. This film is going to be released on 10 April 2026.
