Akshay Kumar shares update on Hera Pheri 3’s production
Bollywood fans have long held the Hera Pheri franchise close to their hearts thanks to its iconic blend of slapstick humour, memorable dialogues, and the inimitable trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. Since the release of Hera Pheri (2000) and its sequel Then Hera Pheri (2006), audiences have eagerly awaited the third instalment in the comedy series. Recent sightings of Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh at the Mumbai airport fueled speculation about their reunion for Hera Pheri 3. Videos of the trio smiling and waving at paparazzi quickly went viral, with fans rejoicing at the prospect of seeing them reprise their iconic roles. After plenty of speculation and delays, Akshay Kumar has finally provided an update about the project, sparking excitement among fans.
Speaking at the HT Leadership Summit, Akshay Kumar lightheartedly remarked, “We’re just making Welcome at the moment, and as soon as producer’s When this cycle ends, then the cycle will start again.!” He followed with a more concrete hint, saying, “Just joking, I think by next year we’ll start it.”
Directed by Priyadarshan, the classic film Hera Pheri revolves around three individuals, Raju, Shyam, and Baburao embroiled in a chaotic money-making scheme. Its sequel continued the trio’s misadventures, as their newfound wealth led to more comical scams and disasters. Both films became cult classics, cementing their place in Indian cinema’s comedy legacy.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was recently seen in Singham Againdirected by Rohit Shetty. The film, which released this Diwali, features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Deepika Padukone. Akshay is currently shooting for Welcome To The Junglewhich is a sequel to another one of his biggest comedy hits, Welcome (2008).
