Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla to Release on April 17

The release date of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has been shifted to April 17, 2026.

Producers confirmed the change, explaining that the decision followed discussions with distributors and theatre owners. Paid preview shows will be held on April 16 from 9 PM, giving fans an early chance to watch the film.

The postponement comes as Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its extraordinary run at the box office. Exhibitors requested a clear window for the blockbuster to sustain momentum, prompting the producers to push Bhooth Bangla back by a week. In their statement, they emphasised that the move supports the overall cinema ecosystem.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla features Akshay Kumar alongside Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the film is set in the fictional town of Mangalpur. The narrative revolves around a haunted palace and a mysterious curse tied to the legend of Vadhusur, which prevents weddings from taking place in the town.

The new release date aims to maximise audience turnout while building anticipation through the special paid previews. With its ensemble cast and unique storyline, Bhooth Bangla is expected to deliver a blend of comedy and supernatural thrills.
