Akshay Shinde ‘encounter’: Maharashtra govt forms SIT amid Opposition criticism

New Delhi: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the ‘encounter’ of Akshay Shinde, the main accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case. The move comes after the Home Minister Amit Shah’s order, amidst growing controversy and Opposition criticism surrounding the incident.

Akshay Shinde, 23, accused of raping two nursery school girls in Badlapur, died after a shootout with police inside a vehicle.
