Al Ahli beat European rivals to land Abubakar Sidi Kinteh in five-year deal

Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli have reached an agreement to sign highly rated youngster Abubakar Sidi Kinteh, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Saudi club have reportedly beaten several European teams in the race for the player’s signature, securing a deal that is now in its final stages. Romano stated that Kinteh is already travelling to Lisbon to undergo his medical examination before officially completing the transfer.

The move is expected to see the player sign a five-year contract with Al Ahli, underlining the club’s long-term plans for one of the most promising young talents available on the market. Kinteh is travelling alongside his agent Cherno Samba as the final formalities are completed.

The agreement marks another statement of intent from Al Ahli, who continue to strengthen their squad and invest in emerging talent. In recent years, Saudi clubs have become increasingly active in both domestic and international transfer markets, competing directly with European teams for high-potential players.

For Kinteh, the transfer represents a significant step in his career. Interest from clubs across Europe had reportedly placed him on the radar of several scouts and recruitment departments. However, Al Ahli ultimately moved ahead of the competition and successfully secured an agreement.

The medical in Lisbon is expected to be the final hurdle before the deal becomes official. Once completed, Kinteh will join Al Ahli on a long-term basis and begin preparations for the upcoming season.
