alert…. BSNL users should not panic after seeing the message of KYC suspension. Fake notice is going viral

New Delhi. The methods of online fraud are changing rapidly and fraudsters are targeting people in new ways. Recently, a similar case has come to light, in which a fake notice in the name of BSNL is becoming increasingly viral on social media and messaging platforms. It is being claimed in this notice that the user’s KYC has been suspended and if it is not updated within 24 hours, their SIM card will be blocked. Most people get nervous after seeing such messages and share their personal details without thinking.

But the truth is something else. Government’s fact check agency PIB Fact Check has made it clear that this notice is completely fake and no such message has been issued by BSNL or TRAI. In such a situation, it is important that you remain alert and avoid sharing your information on any unknown link or call.

  • Know what is the whole matter

A notice is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which BSNL’s logo and TRAI’s name have been used. This notice reads, “Your SIM KYC has been suspended and your SIM will be blocked within 24 hours, call immediately.” This line is being used to scare people, so that they fall into the trap of swindlers.

BSNL has made it clear that it does not send such KYC notices. If any update has to be done, the user is informed through the official channel and not through such intimidating messages.

    Government called it fake

The government’s fact check agency has made it clear that this notice is completely fake. BSNL never sends such notices. TRAI does not call or message any user directly. This is completely a fraud trick. Therefore, if you have also received any such message or notice, then ignore it immediately.

This is how thugs commit fraud

The purpose of such fake notices is to scare the user and take his personal information. As soon as you call the given number or click on the link, you are asked for information like Aadhaar number, bank details, OTP, debit/credit card information. And this is where your data gets into the wrong hands. Therefore do not click on any unknown link. Avoid sharing your personal or bank details on any call.
