At a cost of Rs 125 crores, this film was able to complete even half the budget in 7 days, the figures shattered everyone’s hopes.

Alia Bhatt starrer film ‘Alpha’ was expected to perform well at the box office, but in the first week of its release the film was not successful in drawing people to the theaters in large numbers. Even after completion of seven days, the film could not cross the net collection mark of Rs 50 crore, due to which its earning is considered to be much less than expected.

Increased pressure on big budget films (Alpha Film Budget)

According to reports, ‘Alpha’ has been produced with a budget of around Rs 100 to 125 crore. Although the makers have not officially disclosed the cost, but if these figures are correct then the current box office performance can be considered challenging for the film.

Earning momentum did not build after opening (Alpha Box Office Collection)

The film did take a good start in the initial days, but after that the pace of earnings continued to slow down. The effect of decrease in the number of people on weekdays was directly seen on the box office collection, due to which the film could not make a strong hold.

Decline continued on seventh day (Alpha Box Office Collection Day 7)

According to Sacnilk report, YRF Spy Universe’s seventh film ‘Alpha’ collected a net collection of Rs 2.60 crore in India on the seventh day of its release (Alpha Box Office Collection Day 7). For the last few days, the daily earnings of the film seem to be continuously falling.

Day wise box office collection (Alpha Box Office Collection Total 7 Days)

The film did a net business of Rs 9.25 crore on the first day, Rs 11.50 crore on the second day, Rs 13.25 crore on the third day, Rs 3.85 crore on the fourth day, Rs 4.25 crore on the fifth day, Rs 2.85 crore on the sixth day and Rs 2.60 crore on the seventh day.

Apart from the domestic market, the performance of the film in the overseas market also was not as expected. In seven days, the film made a gross collection of Rs 22.55 crore from abroad. At the same time, the worldwide gross collection of the film including the total earnings of India and abroad has reached Rs 79.21 crore.

Now eyes fixed on the second week

The further earnings of the film will now depend on the performance of the second week. If there is no big jump in the weekend collections, ‘Alpha’ may be among the weakest grossing films of YRF Spy Universe till date.
