Alia Bhatt to ignite on-screen chemistry with Ranveer Singh after ’Don 3’ exit

Ranveer Singh joins hands with Alia Bhatt after ‘Don 3’ shocking exit

Ranveer Singh has reportedly joined hands with Alia Bhatt for the film Pralay after making headlines for his shocking exit from Don 3.

The 40-year-old actor, who was last seen with Bhatt in the 2023 film Rocky and Rani Kii Love Story, has reportedly revealed the reason behind stepping down from the much-awaited sequel to Don.

A source close to the development told Mid-Day“The female lead is central to the narrative. She isn’t introduced as a love interest. She challenges the hero’s ideas in a collapsing world. Who could wield that power better than Bhatt? She brings credibility. In a film this experimental, you need powerhouses and actors the audience’s trust.”

The insider further claimed that director Jai Mehta’s upcoming zombie thriller is “harsh,” with characters pushed to their “moral breaking points.”

“The world (Pralay) is harsh, resources are scarce, and every character is pushed to moral breaking points,” the sources added. “This is not a glossy zombie film.”

According to another report, Mehta’s directorial debut is expected to go on floors between July and August 2026.

This development comes on the heels of the Padmaavat star’s surprising decision to walk away from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 after earning widespread acclaim for Dhurandhar.

Reports suggest that the Band Baaja Baaraat actor does not wish to appear in back-to-back gangster films for some time, especially following his successful portrayal in Dhurandhar.

Meanwhile, the Rocky and Rani Kii Prem Kahani duo has several other projects in the pipeline, with Bhatt gearing up for Love & War and Alpha.

Singh, on the other hand, has Dhurandhar 2 lined up, which is slated for release on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
