Alia Bhatt unveils fierce bruised look in Alpha poster; YRF postpones film again, fans say ‘flop loading’

Over the past few months, there have been rumours about Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha being postponed to avoid a box-office clash with Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan. Many reports also claimed that the film might skip a theatrical release for an OTT premiere. The makers have now cleared the air by announcing a new release date and confirming that the film will arrive in cinemas.

Yash Raj Films’ Alpha gets postponed again

Yash Raj Films’ Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, was earlier slated to release in 2025, but it was postponed to April 2026. Now, the film will hit the big screens on July 10, 2026.

Alia took to Instagram to share a new poster of the film and wrote, “#ALPHA 10.07.2026. See you in cinemas.”

Along with the caption, the poster of Alpha shows Alia Bhatt’s fierce look in the first-look poster, covered in bruises. Although her face wasn’t revealed, a sneak peek of her eyes was visible.

Netizens have had mixed reactions to Alia’s announcement of Alpha. Some lauded her for returning to the big screen after a year, while many criticised her and have already declared the film a flop.

Alpha is is directed by Shiv Rawail, who is known for helming the web series The Railway Men. Expectations from the film are quite high as it is the first female-led spy movie under YRF’s Spy Universe. A small glimpse of the movie featuring Bobby Deol was also attached to War 2 as a post-credit scene.

Apart from Alpha, Alia also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated epic romantic drama Love & War in her line-up. The film also stars her actor husband Ranbir Kapoor and her Raazi (2018) co-star Vicky Kaushal.
