All efforts of Pakistan to stop America-Iran war failed, now Russia takes command of ceasefire
New Delhi: Pakistan’s role in efforts to stop the ongoing tension and war between America and Iran seems to be weakening. Now Russia has prepared to play an active role in this matter. Russian President Vladimir Putin himself has taken charge of the peace agreement.
Pakistan’s efforts failed
Pakistan was playing the role of messenger between America and Iran, but even after more than a week had passed, no concrete meeting could be held between the two countries. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister went to China, where he is discussing issues related to Afghanistan. Apart from this, the Iranian leader Kamal Kharji, through whom Pakistan was conveying the message to the Supreme Leader, was attacked by America.
Kharaji was badly injured. Could not even convince Iran that America is completely serious about the agreement. Iran’s Foreign Minister clearly said that talks will not take place until America assures not to attack in future.
Putin took command
Russia has now come forward in this matter. Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russia will take every necessary step to bring peace in the Middle East. President Putin himself is actively working on the plan. Putin has prepared a plan for the agreement. Under this they are contacting various stakeholders.
On Thursday he met Egypt’s Foreign Minister and spoke on phone with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Russia says it can also help reshape the global trade and logistics system in the Middle East. Russian intelligence agency chief Sergei Naryshkin claimed that his team is in contact with the American intelligence agency.
Trump and Iran’s situation
US President Donald Trump has said that the war could end in 2-3 weeks, but Iran’s Supreme Leader has indicated that the fight will continue. Iran has so far rejected any agreement proposal from America.
This initiative of Putin is considered important at a time when tension in the region is at its peak. If Russia succeeds, new hope for peace may arise in the Middle East.
