All-party meeting concluded: Situation in West Asia was discussed under the leadership of Defense Minister, Home Minister and Foreign Minister were also present.
New Delhi. The government held an all-party meeting on Wednesday amid the current budget session of Parliament, in which the situation in West Asia and its impact on India was discussed. Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, senior Congress leaders Tariq Anwar and Mukul Wasnik and many other leaders attended the meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The opposition had raised the demand for an all-party meeting on the issue after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement in Parliament on the situation in West Asia.
Congress and many other opposition parties are continuously questioning the government regarding the West Asia war and its impact on India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that to deal with the situation arising due to the current conflict in West Asia, seven new empowered groups have been formed which will regularly assess and give suggestions on LPG, supply of essential services and goods and other issues related to various sectors.
Prime Minister Modi, while giving his statement in the Rajya Sabha on the ongoing conflict in West Asia and the challenges faced by India due to it, said that it has been more than three weeks and this war has created a serious energy crisis in the world. Modi had said in the Lok Sabha on Monday that the unexpected crisis arising out of conflict in West Asia will have a long-lasting impact and the government is fully prepared to deal with it.
