Allegation of corruption in Bholenath’s court: As soon as the roof construction of Yatri Niwas was completed, it broke, created an uproar.

The development work worth crores of rupees being done under the Mukhyamantri Vandan Yojana in the famous Shivgarh Dham temple complex located at Adarsh ​​Nagar Panchayat Pachpedwa has now come under controversy. The roof of Yatri Niwas, built at a cost of approximately crores of rupees, cracked soon after the completion of the construction work and water started leaking from it. Anticipating a possible accident, the Nagar Panchayat got the damaged roof demolished. After the incident, serious questions have been raised on the quality of the entire construction work.

Under Mukhyamantri Vandan Yojana, many development works including pond beautification, CC road, interlocking, street light and traveler accommodation are being carried out in the temple premises. Local people allege that poor quality material was used in the construction ignoring the standards, due to which the new roof got damaged shortly after construction. The residents of the city say that as soon as Chairman Ravi Verma got information about the damage to the roof, the work of demolishing it was started without any public information. As soon as the information was received, a large number of people reached the spot and started demanding an impartial investigation into the entire matter.

It was told by the Nagar Panchayat administration that the roof was put up by the contractor at a height lower than the accepted standard, hence it was removed. However, this argument was not accepted by the local people. He says that if the construction was not going as per the approved maps, designs and estimates, then what were the concerned officers and technical staff doing during the entire construction. People raised questions whether the construction work was not being monitored regularly.

Former councilor and city resident Dharmendra Kumar Gupta has demanded a high-level investigation into the entire incident and action against the culprits. He has also sent a complaint to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and requested him to investigate the matter. The residents of the city allege that the possibility of misuse of government funds cannot be ruled out. He says that merely rebuilding the roof will not solve the problem, rather a technical inspection of the entire building should be done to ensure whether the construction work has been done as per the prescribed standards or not.

Also, accountability of the contractors, responsible officers and other concerned people found guilty should be fixed. At present, preparations for reconstruction have been started by removing the damaged roof. Now all eyes are on the district administration to see whether this entire matter is investigated impartially and action is taken against the culprits amidst the complaints and questions being raised.
