Allegation of rigging in the tender of Public Works Department: Former MP Rekha Verma wrote a letter to the CM demanding a high level inquiry.
Sitapur. Former MP from Dhaurahara and National Vice President of BJP Rekha Arun Verma has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh demanding a high-level inquiry into the irregularities in the tender process of the Public Works Department.
Arbitrary attempt in ₹20 crore project
The former MP has informed in the letter that the widening/strengthening work of Wazirnagar-Mahsunia-Barmi Road has been approved in Sitapur district at a cost of approximately ₹ 20 crore. A tender was invited by the department for this work, the last date of which was 15 December 2025. Seven firms have participated in the tender.
Accused of benefiting firms with socialist ideology
Former MP Rekha Verma has made serious allegations against Superintending Engineer, Sitapur/Kheeri circle Satish Kumar and Superintending Engineer (in-charge, Prahari App UP). He has said that these officers, in connivance with Samajwadi Party leaders, are trying to allot work to their favorite firms with socialist ideology like M/s Anmol Associates, M/s RK Construction, and R&C Info Engineering Pvt. Ltd. It is alleged that efforts are being made to exclude the other four firms participating in the tender (Mt. Rahul Singh, Mt. Deepak Kumar Aggarwal, Mt. PK Construction, Mt. Siddharth Construction) from the tender process by calling them ‘technically unfit’. The former MP has warned that if these four bidders are excluded, it will lead to a huge loss of revenue. He also said that many bidders have been forced to withdraw their tenders, the authenticity of which can be checked through e-tender.
Demand for high level investigation and opening of financial tender
Former MP Rekha Verma has made a humble request to the Chief Minister that the efforts of arbitrariness in the tender process by the officials of the Public Works Department should be stopped. He said that the entire issue should be investigated by a high level investigation committee and the financial bids of all the firms participating in the tender should be opened before the investigation committee. He says that this will maintain transparency in the tender process as per the intention of the Chief Minister and quality work will be done.
In this regard, when Public Works Department Sitapur Superintending Engineer Satish Kumar was discussed, he said that whatever tender forms are received and if there is any complaint, then action will be taken after investigating it on the basis of facts.
