Alleged indecency with a female employee under the guise of coverage! Serious allegations against alleged journalist of Amar Ujala
Lucknow.
A case of alleged indecency with a female help desk worker has come to light in the 1912 office of Hussainganj in the central zone of the capital Lucknow, where the office of the Superintendent Engineer (Commercial) also operates. There is said to be an atmosphere of discussion and resentment among the departmental employees regarding the incident.
According to the information received, a person reached the office in connection with the news related to load increase. It is alleged that he started making videos of the female worker with his mobile phone. When the female employee protested against this, objectionable comments were allegedly made about her character, which escalated the controversy.
According to sources, during the dispute, an alleged retired senior journalist of Amar Ujala, who is currently said to be associated with Amar Ujala through contract for works related to the Energy Department, reached the spot. It is alleged that instead of listening to the woman employee, he reprimanded her and allegedly threatened her that she would not be allowed to remain in the department.
According to eyewitnesses, at the time of the incident, Superintending Engineer (Commercial) Mukesh Tyagi and Executive Engineer (Billing) S.K. Sahu was present in the office. It is alleged that during the dispute, no officer immediately intervened in favor of the female employee. The employees also allege that after the incident, the concerned journalist was made to sit respectfully and drink tea, due to which there was dissatisfaction among the office employees.
It is being told that the father of the victim female worker had passed away some time ago. The family was already in a state of mourning and the woman became more mentally traumatized after this incident. Keeping social sensitivity and privacy in mind, the identity of the woman is not being made public.
This incident has raised many serious questions. If any journalist wanted information related to load increase or departmental functioning, he could get the information from the concerned competent authorities. In such a situation, the allegations of alleged indecent treatment of a contractual female worker for making a video and protesting against her raise serious questions about the dignity of journalism and the dignity of women at the workplace.
On talking to Superintending Engineer (Commercial) Mukesh Tyagi in this regard, he expressed regret over the incident. He said that in future, conduct guidelines will be issued for journalists in the office premises, so that the employees working in the department, especially women employees, do not have to face any kind of inconvenience.
It is noteworthy that in the past too, various types of allegations have been made against some alleged journalists associated with Amar Ujala. However, in this case too, no official response could be received from Amar Ujala till the time of publishing the news.
Now all eyes are on whether this incident in the Central Zone is investigated impartially or not. If the allegations made in the investigation are found to be true, then time will decide what action is taken against the concerned persons and the responsible officers who were negligent in the matter.
(If any official response is received from Amar Ujala or the party concerned, it will be included prominently in the news.)
