In Maharashtra politics, December has been the month of meeting of the separated. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections are being held with a delay of a few years but this election first united the Thackeray family. Now Pawar family has also announced alliance for Pimpri-Chinchwad elections. Interestingly, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is currently a part of the Mahayuti and Ajit Pawar is the Deputy CM. Now Ajit Pawar has announced that his party NCP and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) will contest the elections together. This alliance has been formed for the elections of Pimpri-Chinchwad. On this occasion, Ajit Pawar has said that through this the family will also come together.
Earlier on Sunday, at the inauguration of Sharad Pawar Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence in Baramati, the Pawar family was seen on the same stage in the presence of Gautam Adani. When Sharad Pawar welcomed Gautam Adan, Supriya Sule and Ajit Pawar were on the stage. Ajit and Sharad Pawar together greeted Gautam Adani.

Addressing a rally in Talwade, Ajit Pawar said, ‘In Pimpri-Chinchwad, NCP with clock symbol and NCP with trumpet symbol will contest the civic elections together. The family is coming together as many people wanted. Ajit Pawar also said that an agreement has been reached between the two parties regarding seat sharing and it will be announced in 2 days.
Why did Pawar family come together?
Expressing his views on the issue of coming together, Ajit Pawar said, ‘We are a farmer family. Our caste is farmers. Some decisions have to be taken in the interest of the farmers of Maharashtra. Interestingly, when elections were held in 2017, the undivided NCP had won all 4 seats in Ward 12. Ajit Pawar has announced the names of NCP candidates for this ward. Along with this, Ajit Pawar also praised his uncle i.e. Sharad Pawar that it was only because of him that IT Park was built in Hinjewadi and this city could develop.

Why is Pimpri-Chinchwad so important?
Just as BMC has been a strong fort of the Thackeray family for a long time, in the same way Pimpri-Chinchwad is considered important for the Pawar family. The Pawar family first held it from 1992 to 1999 for the Congress led by Ajit Pawar. NCP was in control from 1999 to 2017. However, in the year 2017, BJP had defeated NCP by winning 77 out of 128 seats. Perhaps this is the reason why families are now uniting to save their stronghold.
In such a situation, without taking the name of BJP, Ajit Pawar said, ‘At one time Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was one of the richest corporations in Asia. Today it is burdened with debt and facing allegations of corruption. This has never happened in previous history.

Ajit Pawar has promised that people from all communities will be given NCP tickets and preference will be given to youth as well as experienced leaders. Without naming anyone, he said, ‘Women are being intimidated. Such politics has never been seen. People have told me that they are being threatened that their construction work will be stopped. People should not tolerate this.
