Alperen Sengun becomes youngest center in NBA history to reach 1,000 assists

Alperen Sengun made NBA history on Monday, when the Houston Rockets lost 107-96 to the Detroit Pistons. Despite the defeat, the Turkish player achieved a historic milestone by recording his 1,000th career assist, becoming the youngest center in NBA history to reach this achievement.

Sengun, who contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists during the game, surpassed the 1,000-assist mark with his fourth assist. At just 22 years old, he has set a new record, further cementing his place in NBA history.

Although the Rockets were defeated, with Fred VanVleet contributing 20 points and Jalen Green adding 19, the Pistons secured the victory, led by Cade Cunningham’s impressive 32-point performance.
