Alpha Faces Monday Dip as Thrilling Start Hits ₹1 Crore Mark
Alpha, the newest pulse-pounding chapter in the YRF spyverse, burst onto theater screens last Friday, unleashing a whirlwind of action and intrigue with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari dazzling in the lead roles. Despite its mixed reviews, the film managed to captivate audiences and achieve a strong opening weekend.
According to Sacnilk’s box-office insights, Alpha raked in ₹1.89 crore by 7 PM on Monday, pushing its total earnings in India to a respectable ₹35.89 crore. While this marks the film’s lowest daily haul so far, a weekday decline was on the horizon. However, the numbers might see a slight uptick once the final tally is complete later tonight.
Weekend Highlights
Alpha roared into theaters with an impressive ₹9.25 crore on its debut day, climbing to ₹11.5 crore on Saturday, and surging to ₹13.25 crore on Sunday. But, in a surprising turn, it holds the record for the lowest opening weekend in the YRF Spyverse canon. Compared to the franchise’s giants like War 2, Pathanand Tiger 3which all soared past the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office, Alpha’s start seems modest.
Yet, Alpha is gaining ground against Alia’s other 2024 headliner, Jigrawhich gathered ₹1.65 crore on its fourth day. By the end of Monday’s performance, Alpha had leaped ahead in box office earnings.
Star Power and Notable Cameos
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is breaking new ground with its dynamic female duo at the helm, marking a first for the YRF Spy Universe. The film also features an electrifying cameo by Hrithik Roshan, captivating audiences once more in his riveting role from the War series.
