Amarnath Yatra: Amarnath Yatra postponed for a few days from Sunday due to bad weather warning
Jammu, 18 July. In view of the warning of severe weather in Jammu and Kashmir from July 19 to July 25 by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Amarnath Yatra will be stopped for a few days from Sunday, July 19 through both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
Till now about 4 lakh pilgrims have visited the holy cave.
It is noteworthy that during the Amarnath Yatra which started on July 3, about four lakh pilgrims have visited the holy cave so far. The yatra will conclude on August 28 as per the scheduled schedule.
Yatra will be stopped from both routes Pahalgam and Baltal
Giving this information on Saturday, Kashmir’s Divisional Commissioner Anshul Garg said that this decision has been taken as a precaution keeping in mind the safety and well-being of the pilgrims. He said that in view of the warning of bad weather in the next few days and in view of the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, the Amarnath Yatra will be stopped from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes from July 19.

Pilgrims are not allowed to proceed further from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwadi base camp.
According to the statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir Information and Public Relations Department, pilgrims will not be allowed to proceed further from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwadi Base Camp from July 19. Officials said that information regarding resumption of the journey will be given after taking stock of the safety of the route and weather conditions.
