Amarnath Yatra Update: This time the holy Amarnath Yatra for the darshan of Baba Barfani is going to last for 57 days. Which is going to be started from 3rd July 2026 and it will be completed on the day of Rakshabandhan. At the same time, the first puja will be held on June 29, on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima. This information was given by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha told reporters in Jammu on Sunday, ‘…this yatra will start on July 3 and will end on Raksha Bandhan day on August 28. This year, the Yatra will last for approximately 57 days, which is a longer duration than previous years. The first puja will take place on June 29, 2026, on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima. Registration will start from 15th April. Advance registration can be done through branches of banks like J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank across the country.

The Lieutenant Governor further said, ‘To get registered, the age of the devotees should be between 13 to 70 years. Online registration can also be done through the official website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. If we look at the figures, there has been an increase of about 25 percent in this journey as compared to previous years. Many new steps have been taken in recent years, including making RFID cards mandatory.
