Normalization is a process of ensuring that students are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by the difficulty of the paper they write. This process involves modifying the score of one student in such a way that it becomes comparable with the score of another. This becomes necessary when the examination of the same subject is conducted in multiple sessions, each of which has a different paper.

Gopal Prajapat, who led the protesters, told reporters, 'For the first time in the history of the state, this feat has happened that due to the normalization process being adopted in the recruitment examination, a candidate has secured more marks than the total marks. We are opposing the unfair process of normalization.

He alleged fraud in the recruitment examination conducted for the posts of Forest Guard, Field Guard (Executive) and Jail Guard (Executive) and demanded a fair investigation. Prajapat said that if action is not taken against the culprits through investigation in this matter, then the unemployed youth of the state will be forced to launch a major agitation.
