Amazing initiative of AAP government, Budha Dariya came alive again due to the mission of Sant Seechewal, now clean water is flowing amidst the filth.

Punjab : Ludhiana’s sacred Budha Dariya, which had become synonymous with filth and stink over the years, is now surprising people with its new image. Rajya Sabha MP and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said that with the help of local Sangat, in just one year, a large part of the river has been made so clean that where it was once difficult to stand, boats are now running and aquatic creatures are returning. This transformation shows that when public support and honest efforts come together, nature revives itself.

Greenery on the banks and clear flowing water
Sant Seechewal shared pictures on his social media of areas where once garbage was lying in heaps and the water was full of foul smell. Now the same places are shining with lush green banks and clean flowing water. People have started roaming in the river with small boats. According to Sant Ji, this change is the result of the solidarity and hard work of the local Sangat, which turned a seemingly impossible task into reality.

Public campaign, without corruption
The cleaning of Budha Darya was not based on any government contract model. Sant Seechewal clearly said that in this entire process neither any big budget was demanded nor any kind of contract was given place. Thousands of volunteers removed garbage, cleaned banks and planted trees. He says that the policy of Aam Aadmi Party is to work by keeping the people at the center, and this campaign proved it on the ground.

“After years the river found life again”
The citizens living around the river are very happy with this change. Gurmeet Singh of Jagraon Road says that he was troubled by the foul smell, but now he feels freshness in the air. Elderly Prakash Kaur of Sherpur said emotionally that the same river in which she used to bathe in her childhood is now coming alive again. According to him, this change is the combined result of the dedication of Saint Seechewal and the cooperation of the government.

“Major improvement in quality due to return of aquatic life”
Environmental science experts believe that this initiative is historic for Punjab. Professor Dr. Harpreet Singh of Punjab Agricultural University said that the return of aquatic animals and birds is proof that there has been a clear improvement in the quality of water. He says that if these efforts continue, then in the coming years Budha Darya can once again be established as a completely healthy river.

“When leadership is honest, the impossible…
Praising this campaign, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the contribution made by Saint Seechewal towards environmental protection is unique. He said that the government installed sewage treatment plants, took action against polluting industries and implemented zero discharge policy, which has laid a strong foundation for the cleanliness of the river. According to Mann Saheb, this example can become inspirational for the entire country.

Saint Seechewal’s appeal: “Never let the river get dirty again”
Saint Seechewal said that this journey is not yet completed; There is still a lot of work left to do. He appealed to the people of Punjab not to allow the river to be polluted again and not to throw plastic or garbage into it. He believes that if society, government and people work together then no environmental mission is difficult. The revival of Budha Darya is a living proof of this idea.
