Amazon Fraud: Ordered graphics card worth ₹ 2.9 lakh, turned out to be ‘Ghadi’ detergent! Support stopped within 15 minutes, user shared shocking video

New Delhi: In the era of online shopping, fraud cases are not showing any signs of stopping. The latest incident has come to light with e-commerce giant Amazon India, where a startup founder was handed a packet of ‘Ghadi’ detergent in exchange for a GIGABYTE RTX 5090 graphics card worth a whopping ₹2.9 lakh. While sharing his pain on social media, the victim user said that Amazon closed his complaint within just 15 minutes and has also clearly refused to give a refund. Had ordered RTX 5090 for startup, got 1 kg surf packet. A user named Swagat Nayak informed about this incident on the social media platform X (Twitter). He told that he had ordered the most expensive and powerful graphics card for his startup. According to the welcome, this was a ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ (FBA) order, which means it was packed and delivered directly from an Amazon authorized warehouse. Upon receiving the parcel, they found that the seal of the box had been cut and a fake aftermarket barcode had been pasted on it. “Mathematics does not lie”: Shipping label exposed Poluser has shared an unboxing video and a photo of the shipping label as proof. Pointing out a very important technical mistake, Swagat Nayak wrote – “Amazon’s mathematics itself is against them.” * Weight of the RTX 5090: approximately 3 kg with retail box. Weight on shipping label: a mere 1.56 kg. Welcome argument that 1.56 kg weighs exactly the same as detergent and packaging. The question arises that despite such a huge difference, how did this packet pass Amazon’s warehouse scan? Amazon’s attitude: Case closed in 15 minutes and refund rejected. The most surprising thing in this case was Amazon’s support system. According to the user, as soon as he raised a support ticket, the company closed it within 15 minutes without any concrete investigation. At present, the company has rejected the refund application, due to which the victimized user is now considering taking the legal route. There was an uproar on social media: People said – “The video is edited.” As soon as the post went viral, the internet got divided into two groups. While on one hand thousands of users shared their past bitter experiences (like someone got local shoes instead of Nike, someone got a cheap camera instead of GoPro), on the other hand some people raised questions on the welcome video itself. One user commented, “The video looks heavily edited, show the original footage.” While another advised, “When ordering such an expensive item, the unboxing video should have been recorded from every angle.” Keep these 3 things in mind while doing expensive online shopping. If you also order expensive electronics items online, then never forget these precautions: Open Box Delivery: Always choose the option of open box delivery, where the packet is opened and checked in front of the delivery boy. Unboxing Video: Make a video showing the box from all sides without any cut or pause. Weight Check: If the parcel seems light, refuse to accept it or get the weight checked in front of the delivery boy.
