Ameesha Patel has expressed regret over turning down Salman Khan’s Your name following the film’s success.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Say no… I love you! star opened up about the stakes of rejecting the 2003 romance-action film.
Despite her liking for the plot, Ameesha revealed that she was unable to take up the project because nothing had been finalized by the time she was offered the lead role.
The Humraaz actress also shared her sentiments after the film went on to become a commercial success.
She told the outlet, “I wish I had done it. But at that time, there were no fixed dates for the film when Salman narrated the story. I heard the story and the songs. Even the director was not on board. Salman was very excited about Your nameand rightly so. When it was finalized, and when Satish Kaushik ji came on board (he was finalized much later), by then I was already busy and committed to another project.”
Ameesha noted that had Salman approached her sooner with the script, she would have definitely tried to accommodate her dates.
For the unversed, Bhumika Chawla played the lead role in Your name, alongside Salman Khan.
