What America said on India-Canada dispute, Britain's strange reaction

New Delhi: The whole world is keeping an eye on the dispute between India and Canada. Many other countries including America and Britain have responded. The dispute between India and Canada over the killing of Khalistan supporter Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a declared terrorist by India, is an old one, which has once again taken a serious turn.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries are on the verge of breaking. Now reactions from other western countries including America and Britain have also started coming to light on this controversy. On the dispute between India and Canada, America has said that India should seriously consider the allegations being made by Canada in the Nijjar murder case.

America in favor of Canada

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the allegations against India are very serious. Miller said that we want the Indian government to help in the investigation with Canada. Certainly he has not done so. He has chosen an alternative path. Both India and Canada are allies for America. However, here America was inclined towards Canada.

Britain's response

A statement was issued by Britain in the matter. Although this statement did not make direct reference to India, it did mention the ongoing investigation in Canada into the allegations made against India. In fact, when India had termed the Canadian government's allegations as baseless, Trudeau spoke to British PM Keir Starmer on phone. Both the leaders have promised to remain in touch with each other till the conclusion of the investigation into Nijjar murder case comes out.

New Zealand government also responded

New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters posted on social media platform Alleged criminal activities that have been publicly disclosed by Canadian law enforcement agencies. If his allegations are proved true then it will be a matter of great concern.

Since when is there a dispute between India and Canada?

Tension between India and Canada started increasing after the murder of Nijjar in June last year. On the evening of June 18, 2023, pro-Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead while leaving the Gurudwara in Surrey, Canada. From that time onwards, allegations were leveled against India that Indian agents had got Khalistani Nijjar murdered.

After this, on September 18 last year, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau had accused the Indian government of being involved in the murder of Nijjar. Which was rejected by India. India rejected this claim outright and demanded proof from Canada.
