America attacks aircraft coming to India! Iran got angry, said – this is a ‘war crime’, will a great war break out now?
Tehran/New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, a news has come which has shocked the entire world including India. America has attacked a civilian plane coming from Iran to India. Iran has been enraged by this incident and has directly termed America’s action as a ‘war crime’. Iran alleges that America has not only embarrassed humanity but has also flouted international laws.
Attack on Mashhad airport, plane coming to India
According to the information, this attack took place at Mashhad International Airport in Iran. The target was the plane of ‘Mahan Air’ which was preparing to fly to India carrying humanitarian relief material (medicines and medical equipment). This plane had collected relief material from many countries and brought it to Iran and was to reach New Delhi at 4 am on April 1. The aircraft has been heavily damaged in the American air attack, due to which this important mission has been stopped midway.
Iran said ‘International Criminal Offense’
The Iranian Embassy in India has strongly condemned this attack. The embassy quoted the Civil Aviation Organization as saying that targeting civilian aircraft is a gross violation of the Chicago Convention (1944) and the Montreal Convention (1971). The Iranian embassy clearly said, “Attacking aircraft carrying medicines and medical equipment is a criminal offense against international law.” Citing the rules of the Geneva Convention, it has been directly categorized as ‘war crime’.
Brake on humanitarian mission
This incident has happened at a time when India and Iran are working together for humanitarian assistance. Earlier this month, India had also sent aid material to Iran. Now this attack on Mashhad Airport has disrupted the previously planned peace and aid mission. Due to the plane being damaged, the consignment of medicines will not be able to reach Delhi on time. The organization has now demanded that this matter be raised at the international level and strict action be taken against those responsible so that such atrocities do not happen again in future.
