“America has used us like toilet paper”, said Pakistan’s defense minister himself!
America has used Pakistan for special purposes. Then threw it away after finishing the work. Just like toilet paper. Such comments are not of India or any other country. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif! And that too standing in the parliament of his own country! For now, Khawaja’s explosive comments in the practice of the diplomatic world.
What exactly did Khwaja say? According to him, after 1999, Pakistan has good relations with America. Especially on Afghanistan issue. And in the end, Pakistan has suffered. According to him, Islamabad made a big mistake in this decision. The price of which has to be checked now.
Khawaja claimed that Afghanistan’s anti-Soviet struggle in the 1980s was not for religious reasons. Behind it was American diplomacy. According to him, Russia has not done anything in Afghanistan that warrants a declaration of jihad.
Khawaja has practically challenged what Pakistan has been saying for decades. According to Pak Defense Minister, Pakistan is fighting against Afghanistan to save Islam – this is not true. This fight in the name of Jihad was misguided and destructive.
At the same time, Khawaja claimed that Afghanistan’s anti-Soviet struggle in the 1980s was not for any religious reason. Behind it was American diplomacy. According to him, Russia has not done anything in Afghanistan that warrants a declaration of jihad. Apart from this, he made it clear that since 1999, especially after 9/11 in 2001, Pakistan has had to pay the price of walking in the hands of America. And for this, he brought Zia-ul-Haq and Pervez Musharraf, the military rulers of that country, to justice. And in this context, he also attacked Washington and claimed that America threw them away by using them like toilet paper.
Referring to the post-2001 period, Khawaja said Pakistan had taken a stand against the Taliban to support America’s war on terror. But when Pakistan sank into radicalism and economic pressure, Washington backed off. In his words, “the loss we have suffered will never be recovered.” Now let’s see what the White House comments on Pakistan’s defense minister’s comments regarding America’s ‘friendly’ behavior towards Pakistan during the recent period of US President Donald Trump.
