Washington: US officials said on Tuesday that the US is preparing to send new military aid worth $375 million to Ukraine, which will include medium-range cluster bombs, rockets, artillery and military vehicles. Although no public announcement has been made regarding this aid yet, officials hope that this package will be officially announced during the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday.

Officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the details of the aid package were not public and had not yet been officially shared. The US is providing aid to Ukraine at a time when world leaders are set to meet at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where the issue of Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be a major topic of discussion.

Under this new aid package, Ukraine will be provided with medium-range cluster bombs, which are used to target enemy forces and equipment in large areas. Apart from this, rockets, artillery and armored vehicles will also be supplied, so that the Ukrainian army can increase its offensive capability and get strength in the ongoing struggle against the Russian army. This package has been prepared keeping in mind the current needs of Ukraine, especially at a time when Ukraine is reorganizing its army and trying to regain control of the areas occupied by Russia.

According to US officials, with this new aid package, the US has so far provided a total of more than $56.2 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the invasion by Russia in February 2022, the US has been continuously providing military and economic assistance to Ukraine. In addition, the European Union and other Western allies have also played an important role in supporting Ukraine.
