America tightens screws on PAK's missile program, imposes sanctions on four organizations

Washington: The US has imposed sanctions on four entities contributing to Pakistan's ballistic missile program. These organizations are accused of being involved in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. This step has been taken under US Executive Order EO 13382.

In a post on Twitter, Miller said, “Today, the United States is imposing sanctions on four entities that contribute to Pakistan's ballistic missile program. “We have been clear and consistent about our concerns, and we will continue to engage constructively with Pakistan on these issues.”

The statement said, “In view of the continued proliferation threat of Pakistan's development of long-range missiles, the United States is designating four entities for sanctions under Executive Order (EO) 13382, which prohibits the development of weapons of mass destruction. “Targets the broadcasters and their means of distribution.”

The statement further said that these entities are proliferators of weapons of mass destruction.

It said, “Pakistan's National Development Complex – which is responsible for Pakistan's ballistic missile program and which has acquired items to advance Pakistan's long-range ballistic missile program.

Affiliates International, Akhtar & Sons Pvt. Ltd., and Rockside Enterprises – which have supplied equipment and missile-applicable items to Pakistan's ballistic missile program, including its long-range missile program – are subject to EO 13382 Section 1. (a)(ii) being designated as engaging in or attempting to engage in such activities or transactions.

Which has materially contributed to, or poses a risk of materially contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery (including missiles capable of delivering such weapons), including the manufacture, acquisition by Pakistan of such items; , including any attempt to possess, develop, transport, transfer or use.”

“The United States will continue to take action against proliferation and related procurement activities,” the statement concluded.
The National Development Complex (NDC), based in Islamabad, Pakistan, has worked to acquire items to advance Pakistan's long-range ballistic missile program – including missiles for use as launch support equipment for ballistic missiles and missile testing equipment. Special vehicle chassis to be made are included.

The statement said the United States assesses that the NDC is responsible for Pakistan's development of ballistic missiles, including the Shaheen-series ballistic missiles. Akhtar & Sons Private Limited, based in Karachi, Pakistan, has worked for the NDC to supply a range of equipment for Pakistan's long-range ballistic missile programme.

Affiliates International, based in Karachi, Pakistan, has facilitated the procurement of missile-applied items for the NDC and others in support of Pakistan's ballistic missile program. Rockside Enterprises, based in Karachi, Pakistan, has worked for the NDC to supply a range of equipment for Pakistan's long-range ballistic missile programme.
