American activist’s voice in support of Sonam Wangchuk, questions raised on NEET paper leak issue

Tezzbuzz Desk- Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike is getting support in the country as well as abroad amid the ongoing agitation over alleged irregularities and paper leak allegations in the NEET exam. An American activist has also given his reaction regarding this matter and expressed concern over the issues related to students.

Sonam Wangchuk was sitting on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar for a long time. Their movement is going on on issues related to improvement in the examination system, accountability in alleged paper leak cases and the interests of students. According to reports, Wangchuk started this fast from June 28 and his demands include transparency and accountability in the education system. Wangchuk’s movement received support from demonstrations associated with the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP). In this movement, questions were raised regarding the examination system and accountability was demanded from the government. The protesters say that incidents like paper leak affect the future of lakhs of students and strict action should be taken against those responsible for it.

American activists expressed their concern on this issue through social media. He said that fairness in the education system and protection of students’ rights is necessary. He expressed support for Wangchuk’s peaceful movement and student-related issues. Meanwhile, concerns about Wangchuk’s health had also increased. Due to continuous hunger strike, he lost weight and his health was affected. Expressing concern about his health, the Delhi High Court had also directed the administration to conduct regular health checkups and monitoring.

Later, after his health deteriorated, Delhi Police admitted him to Safdarjung Hospital. According to the police, this step was taken keeping in mind medical advice and health safety. At the same time, people associated with the movement raised questions about this action and called it an attempt to suppress the voice of protest. Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali J. Angmo has also raised questions on the process of hospitalization. He said that monitoring of health is important, but the consent of the family and their doctors should also be given importance in decisions related to treatment. At the same time, leaders associated with the movement have called for a march to Parliament on July 20. He says that this demonstration is about the voice of the students and their demand for improvement in the education system.

Sonam Wangchuk is known for working on issues related to education reform and environment in the country. His hunger strike has once again intensified the debate regarding the examination system, problems of students and accountability of the government. At present, political reactions are also continuously emerging on this entire matter. While the opposition is demanding dialogue and action from the government, the administration is calling it a step related to health and law and order.
