Now internet will not stop in flight, American Airlines is bringing Starlink Wi-Fi, video calling will work in the air also
Starlink Internet in American Airlines: Internet has now become very important for people traveling at the airport. It has been observed that people keep their phones and laptops ready even before boarding the flight so that they can continue work, video calls or entertainment even in the air. In such a situation, due to this changing habit, American Airlines has made a big announcement. It is being said in the reports that the airline is going to introduce Starlink’s high-speed internet system in more than 500 of its narrowbody flights. This service can be started from the beginning of 2027. It is also believed that this change can completely change the world of flight Wi-Fi.
Now internet like home will be available in flight also
Till now, using internet in flight was often a troublesome experience. In which sometimes the speed was very slow and sometimes there was problem like getting stuck in the middle of video call or streaming, but American Airlines now wants to change this experience. Let us tell you that the company will use Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellite network, which is considered to be much faster and less latency than the old satellite system. Reports suggest that this system may be capable of providing speeds of up to 1Gbps per antenna. Due to which in future, even inside the flight, internet will work almost like broadband at home.
Flights can become like offices
You must have noticed that business travelers do not choose flights only on the basis of seat and food. Many people also look at how good the internet will be while flying. In such a situation, if Starlink’s system meets expectations, passengers will be able to make video calls, stream movies and even work on the cloud without interruption. Due to which flights will gradually convert into Connected Workspace.
Which planes will get the new Wi-Fi system?
According to the information revealed so far, the new internet system will be installed especially in aircraft like Airbus A321neo and A321XLR. Which is most used on domestic and small international routes. In such a situation, it is clear that this change will take time to happen completely. In which the airlines are being cited as the reason for the long time taken to install new systems in every aircraft and complete the certification. It is expected that it will be gradually rolled out by 2027.
