‘Medicine costs 85 thousand in America, 35 rupees in India’, American woman exposes health care system

Medicine Price Comparison: A video comparing the prices of medicines in India and America is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video shared on Instagram from an account named @spicygori, American woman Liz living in India described the big difference between the health services of the two countries.

In the video, Liz says that her aunt is suffering from a type of blood cancer and has to take a medicine called Revlimid. According to him, the price of one pill of this medicine in America is around 900 dollars (about 85 thousand rupees), whereas in India its generic option is available for around 35 to 300 rupees per pill. Liz said that medicines in India are very affordable and that is why the treatment here is within the reach of common people.

In the video, Liz also raised questions on the American health system. He said that India provides relatively cheap health services to its citizens, whereas in America people are charged huge amounts in the name of medicines and treatment. He said, “We are being looted in America, while India provides affordable health services to its people.”

However, it is important to note that drug prices may vary from country to country due to a number of factors such as patents, insurance systems, government policies, availability of generic drugs, and health systems. The claims made in the viral video have not been independently verified.
