Amidst controversies, Indian cricket team will tour Bangladesh in September.
New Delhi, 2 January 2026: There is anger among Indians regarding the atrocities being committed on Hindus in Bangladesh. Regarding this, there is a demand to not play Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from KKR in the next IPL, today shocking details have come to light. Now the Indian team will go to Bangladesh to play a cricket match. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for the year 2026 on January 2, according to which the Indian team will tour Bangladesh in the next September.
During this tour, the Indian team will play a 3-match ODI series and a 3-match T-20 series against host Bangladesh. According to the schedule announced by Bangladesh Board, Ta. One-day matches will be played on 1, 3 and 6 September. Similarly, T-20 series will be played on 9, 12 and 13 September.
In the last one year, there has been a lot of tension in the relations between India and Bangladesh. The announcement of this tour may give rise to a new controversy amid the ongoing boycott campaigns on social media. Sports experts believe that considering the security and political environment, question marks may be raised on the planning of this series.
In the recently concluded IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Bangladeshi bowler Mustafizur Rahman for a staggering price of Rs 9.2 crore. This decision taken by Shahrukh Khan’s team is being strongly opposed on social media and at the political level. However, BCCI has clarified that no ban will be imposed on Bangladeshi players at present.
