Amidst the crisis, the government took a big decision, customers with PNG connection will not get LPG cylinders.

Amid concerns regarding gas supply in the country, the government has taken an important decision. The government has issued clear instructions saying that consumers who have piped natural gas (PNG) connection as well as domestic LPG connection will not be able to have both the facilities simultaneously. Such consumers will have to surrender their domestic LPG connections with immediate effect.

What does the government say?

Also, they will not be allowed to refill domestic LPG cylinders from any government oil company or its distributor. The government says that this step has been taken to improve the availability of gas and ensure supply of LPG to needy consumers.

The government has also made it clear that those people who already have PNG facility in their homes, there is no need to keep LPG cylinders. Therefore, by eliminating such connections, better management of gas resources will be done. Officials believe that this will provide relief to those families who really need LPG cylinders and who are still not connected to the PNG network.

Meanwhile, the administration has also become strict regarding hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders. The DGP in-charge of Gujarat said in Surat that clear instructions have been given to the police that if any person or group is found hoarding LPG cylinders or selling them in the black market, then strict legal action will be taken against them. The objective of the administration is to ensure that no artificial shortage is created in the supply of gas.

Meeting with collectors and district supply officers

He said that a meeting has been held in this regard with collectors, district supply officers and civil supplies department. Instructions have been given in the meeting that the vehicles of LPG agencies and distributors should not be stopped unnecessarily on the way, so that the supply of gas can continue uninterrupted. Along with this, it will also be ensured that the cylinders are completely safe and there is no leakage of any kind in them.

On the other hand, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has also assured the people that there will be no shortage of fuel in the country. While talking to journalists in Guna, he said that the Prime Minister has assured the countrymen that the supply of oil, kerosene and diesel will remain completely normal. He said that the government is making continuous efforts to maintain the availability of gas. Scindia also said that due to the diplomatic initiative of the Prime Minister, the Strait of Hormuz route has been opened for India, due to which there will be no hindrance in the supply of oil and gas to the country.
