In view of the Oil Crisis, the Government of Pakistan has imposed Smart Lockdown in the entire country, under which there will be Smart Lockdown in the entire Pakistan from 12:01 AM on Saturday to 11:59 AM on Sunday till further orders. Under Smart Lockdown, markets, shops will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday, motorways and highways will remain closed. Also, marriages will not be possible. This Smart Lockdown of Saturday-Sunday will continue till further orders and will start from April 4-5.

A proposal has been prepared to implement ‘smart lockdown’ of two days a week in Pakistan with the aim of saving energy and fuel, but this proposal has not been approved yet. According to Pakistani local media Aaj TV, Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said that a notification regarding lockdown in Pakistan is circulating on social media, which is fake.

Ataullah Tarar further said that this notification is fake. According to the Federal Information Minister, in this notification it was told that proposals have been prepared to implement a smart lockdown of two days a week to save electricity and fuel, which have also been sent to the governments of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. According to sources, a formal notification will be issued after the consent of the provinces.
