Vikas Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill i.e. VB–G Ram G was passed by Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh answered the opposition’s questions in both the houses on Thursday. During this, the opposition raised slogans against the bill. Opposition MPs reached the well and threw papers. Amidst the uproar, the bill was passed by voice vote.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, MNREGA was not named after Mahatma Gandhi earlier. Earlier it was NREGA. Later, when 2009 elections came, Mahatma Gandhi was remembered because of the elections and votes. After this Mahatma Gandhi was added to it.
Earlier, the opposition took out a march in the Parliament complex in protest against this bill. More than 50 opposition MPs participated in this and raised slogans to withdraw the VB-G-RAM-G bill.
On Thursday, the discussion on VB-G-RAM-G bill continued till around 12 midnight in Rajya Sabha. There was a 14-hour discussion in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The bill was passed from the Rajya Sabha at 12:30. It will replace the 20 year old MGNREG Act.
Before this, Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill was passed in Rajya Sabha.

More than 70% of these schools with zero enrollment in the 2024-25 academic session are in Telangana and West Bengal. The Education Ministry has given this information in the Parliament. The number of schools with zero or less than 10 students has increased by 24% in the last two years.
- Access to 43 OTT platforms closed across the country- In response to a question, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan told the Lok Sabha that access to 43 OTT platforms has been blocked. This action has been taken against those platforms which were broadcasting content prohibited by law.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that a person, a minister, who shows compassion towards the poor, is now ending MNREGA. There is some compulsion which you are not telling others. There will come a time in the coming days when you will withdraw this law in the same way as you had withdrawn the three agricultural laws. Do you want a movement in which people block roads, protest, take bullets and die? Only then will you withdraw the law? People will take to the streets, face bullets, but will never support this law.
Government said- 26 Indians working in Russian army died
The Indian government told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that 26 Indians serving in the Russian army have died and 7 are missing. In the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that efforts are underway for the early release of 50 Indians.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that the bodies of 10 dead Indians have been brought back to India and two have been cremated locally. DNA samples of the families of 18 missing or dead Indians have been given to Russian authorities so that they can be identified.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said in Rajya Sabha that this bill is anti-poor, farmers, laborers and employment. This bill will increase additional burden on the states. This bill should be sent to the select committee.
He said, do not defame the name of Lord Ram and do not commit your sins and misdeeds in the name of Lord Ram. Can the Ram Rajya which was imagined by Atal ji and Mahatma Gandhi by taking the name of Lord Shri Ram be anti-poor?
