‘This cannot be discussed in the House’
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “For two days, we told the opposition that this should be discussed after two sessions, but they did not agree. We agreed. Why did we say ‘no’? There were two reasons for saying ‘no’. One, they wanted to discuss SIR. I am very clear that SIR cannot be discussed in this House. SIR is the responsibility of the Election Commission. The EC and CEC of India do not work under the government. If there is a discussion and questions are raised, then who will answer it? will give?
Despite this, when the opposition said that there should be a discussion on electoral reforms, we immediately agreed… “For the first two days, there was a deadlock over discussing this matter. This gave a wrong message to the people that we did not want to discuss it.
one-sided lies spread
Amit Shah further said, “I want to make it clear that Parliament is the biggest panchayat for discussion in this country. BJP-NDA never shy away from discussion. Whatever may be the topic, we are always ready for discussion as per the rules of Parliament. For two days, we told the opposition that it should be discussed after two sessions.” Speaking on electoral reforms in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “…one-sided lies were spread about SIR for four months. An attempt was made to mislead the people of the country…”
One’s responsibility to implement electoral law
Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament said, “Article 326 lays down the eligibility conditions for a voter. The voter must be a citizen of India, be at least 18 years of age and must not be disqualified by reason of mental disability, criminal cases or corruption as per law. Under Article 327, Parliament makes laws on the electoral list, delimitation and conduct of elections, while the Election Commission is responsible for implementing them. Is.”
SIR Process to keep elections clean
Home Minister Amit Shah said that after 2004, SIR is happening in 2024. This process has happened many times during the Congress rule. The first SIR took place in 1952. There was Congress government then. Through this process, infiltrators will be thrown out of the country. These infiltrators will not decide who will be the CM and PM. SIR is the process of keeping elections clean.
