Amit Shah is strict on infiltration in Seemanchal, said- illegal structures within 10 KM will be razed

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has indicated to adopt a tough stance against the increasing infiltration and illegal construction in the border areas. He said that incidents of illegal entry into the border areas of Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand are becoming a serious threat to the internal security of the country. In such a situation, the government has made it clear that after identifying the infiltrators, strict legal action will be taken against them, so that the border security can be strengthened.

Illegal structures will be identified

The Home Minister also said that a plan is being made to identify and remove illegal structures built within a radius of 10 kilometers along the International Border. For this, a special action plan will be prepared in coordination with the concerned agencies. He stressed that any kind of illegal activities in the border area will no longer be tolerated at any cost and strict measures will be taken within the ambit of law.

During the inauguration of the administrative and residential building of the 52nd Corps of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Leti, Sikti in Araria district, the Home Minister also described the change in population balance in the Seemanchal area as a matter of serious concern. He talked about a detailed investigation of this matter and directed the SSB jawans to remain deployed with full vigilance on the border. He said that security forces will have to be more alert and active to stop activities like infiltration and smuggling.

Home Minister will review security arrangements

During his three-day Seemanchal visit, the Home Minister will review the security arrangements by meeting with senior administrative officers and police officers of the border districts. During this, border management, law and order situation and the progress of implementation of the development plans of the Central Government will be discussed. Especially under the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’, the development status of border villages will also be assessed.

On the first day of the tour, the Home Minister rested for the night in Kishanganj and offered prayers at the local Hanuman temple before leaving for Araria on Thursday morning. During this, the people present outside the temple welcomed him by raising patriotic slogans. His program is proposed in Purnia on Friday, where he will address public meetings along with administrative meetings.
