Amit Shah News Marathi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the formation of a high-level committee to look into the issue of infiltration and demographic change in India. He called it a serious challenge with far-reaching implications for national security, sovereignty and social stability.
Stating that this is the next phase of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2025 Independence Day announcement, Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X that the government has now formally constituted a “High Level Committee on Demographic Change”. The committee will address concerns related to changes in population structure due to illegal migration and other “unnatural” causes.
In a post on social media, Amit Shah said, “Unnatural demographic change due to infiltration and other causes poses a major challenge to the present and future of any nation.”

The committee has been formed as part of the initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2025. The Home Minister said that this step has been taken keeping in view the long-term considerations related to national security, social balance and administrative planning.

Committee Leadership and Composition
Retired Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar will chair the High Level Committee. In addition, the committee consists of the following members
-Census Commissioner
-Retired IAS officer Durga Shankar Mishra
-Retired IPS officer Balaji Srivastava
– Economist Dr. Shamika Ravi
– Joint Secretaries of the Ministry of Home and External Affairs have been appointed as Member Secretaries of the Committee.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMITTEE
According to the government details, the committee will study changes in population structure across the country, including changes due to alleged illegal migration and other unusual factors. The committee will analyze the patterns of population change at the level of various religious and social groups and prepare a report on its possible social, economic and security implications. Officials said the committee will study data trends, consult with various stakeholders and recommend policy measures to address emerging challenges. The committee is expected to submit its report within the prescribed time frame, with special focus on practical and implementable solutions.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Home Minister Amit Shah said the initiative symbolizes a proactive approach to protect national interests. “We are committed to ensuring that the integrity and social fabric of the nation is preserved through deliberate and decisive action,” he said.
