Write on your heart, how will BJP destroy Didi’s fort in West Bengal? Amit Shah has set the target
Amit Shah on West Bengal Election: BJP has become fully active in the mission of conquering Bengal. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has sounded the trumpet of victory from the soil of Kolkata. Amit Shah has made everything clear through where the path to victory in West Bengal will go and what will be the target in the elections. Yes, Amit Shah has told the Bengal BJP where the path to victory in Bengal can lie for the party. According to him, if it gets 22 out of 28 seats in Kolkata and surrounding areas, then the formation of BJP government is certain.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday appealed to BJP officials and workers in Bengal to keep victory in mind in the 2026 assembly elections. According to TOI report, hours before leaving from Kolkata, Amit Shah said, “Write it on your heart, this time our government.” While addressing the party workers, he set a special target. “Our workers have been killed and it pains us. This time I want 22 out of 28 seats from Kolkata and its surrounding areas,” he said. A day before this, i.e. on Tuesday, Amit Shah had said that BJP will form the next government in Bengal with two-thirds majority.
Through which seats will the path to victory pass?
In fact, the urban areas in and around Kolkata include central areas like Jadavpur, Dumdum, Jorasanko and Shyampukur. These are the areas where Mamata Banerjee’s TMC is considered to have a strong hold. Till now lotus has not bloomed in these areas. In the 2021 assembly elections, BJP was not successful in winning even a single seat here. However, BJP was ahead in Jorasanko and Shyampukur during the counting of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This is a ray of hope for the party.
Why did Amit Shah take the name of Bhawanipur?
In his speech that lasted for about an hour, Amit Shah mentioned Bhawanipur. This is the same assembly constituency from where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee won the 2021 by-election. When he initially said that BJP was ahead in three municipal corporation wards there, party worker Naveen Mishra stood up to correct him. Amit Shah accepted his mistake. Correcting the issue, he said, “Due to hard work, we remained ahead in five municipal corporation wards in Bhawanipur.”

In which areas is BJP weak?
Senior party leaders say that Amit Shah wants big success in the Kolkata belt. Around Kolkata, there are around 140 seats in North and South 24 Parganas districts in the east and south and Howrah district across the Hooghly river in the west. A Bengal BJP leader said, “These are areas where the party is still considered weak. Amit Shah wants us to have a strong hold in this area.” It is noteworthy that assembly elections are to be held next year. BJP has already adopted an aggressive stance against Mamata government.
