Amit Shah assures support to martyr J&K cop’s family; LG Manoj Sinha reaffirms anti-terror resolve
Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured the family of martyred Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi of all possible assistance from the government.
Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA from Nagrota, Sunil Sharma, on Friday visited the residence of the martyred policeman and expressed condolences on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During his visit, Sunil Sharma contacted Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone. The Home Minister spoke directly with Absar, the son of martyred Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi; enquired about the well-being of the family; and assured them of the government’s full support and assistance.

“Visited the home of martyred Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi in Budgam to pay respects and offer heartfelt condolences to his family. In this difficult time, prayers remain with the bereaved family, wishing them strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” Sunil Sharma posted on his social media handle.
“Grateful to Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji for personally speaking to the martyr’s son and assuring the family of the government’s full support and assistance during this challenging period,” he added.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the family, Sharma said Union Home Minister Amit Shah personally spoke to the martyr’s son over the phone, conveyed his heartfelt condolences, and assured the family of all possible assistance from the central government.
He said the family also shared their concerns directly with the home minister, who reaffirmed that the Government of India stands firmly with them during this difficult time and would extend every possible support and assistance.
LG Visits Martyr Cop’s Family
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated his resolve to eradicate terrorism from the Union Territory by dismantling the terror ecosystem.
The Lieutenant Governor on Friday visited Lalpora in Beerwah, Budgam, to meet the family of martyred J&K Police Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who laid down his life in the line of duty during a terror attack in Anantnag earlier this week.

The Lieutenant Governor paid heartfelt tributes to the brave policeman and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. He said the entire nation is proud of braveheart Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, whose courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty will remain etched in the nation’s collective memory.
He said the martyr’s ideals of dedication to duty and love for the motherland would continue to inspire future generations in building a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.

The lieutenant governor assured the family that the administration stands firmly with them and will ensure their well-being and dignity. He also assured them of full support until Ashiq Hussain Qureshi’s son completes his education and becomes eligible for appointment to a government job on compassionate grounds.
Highlighting the significant progress made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in dismantling the terror ecosystem, the Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed his resolve to eliminate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He urged society, particularly the youth of the Union Territory, to draw inspiration from the martyrs’ dedication and devotion to Maa Bharti and remain united in the fight against terrorism.
