Amit Shah’s strict statement in Lok Sabha – ‘Will not spare those who take up arms’

New Delhi, 30 March. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday took a tough stance during the debate on Left Wing Extremism in the Lok Sabha, saying that this is Narendra Modi’s government and whoever takes up arms will be held accountable.

Sometimes Naxalism is rapidly ending in ‘Red Corridor’ areas

Amit Shah said that the areas earlier known as ‘Red Corridor’ included 12 states and about 70% of the land area. He claimed that now there has been a big change in the situation in these areas and Naxalism is ending rapidly.

Emphasis on development in Bastar

The Home Minister said that Naxalism is almost ending in Bastar and now development work has intensified there. Schools and ration shops have been opened in every village, due to which the common people are getting direct benefits.

Targeted at Congress

Attacking the main opposition party Congress, Amit Shah said that despite ruling for 70 years, tribal areas could not be developed. He raised questions as to why basic facilities were not provided for such a long time.

Shah said that after 2014, the central government started many schemes for the poor, including houses, gas, pure water, health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh and free ration. He said that earlier due to Naxalism these facilities could not reach areas like Bastar.

The opposition should first look at its responsibility

The Home Minister asked the opposition to first assess their tenure. He alleged that the previous governments neither developed infrastructure nor provided facilities like banking and education in the tribal areas.
