According to an Instagram post of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, Anupam Kher has lent his voice to the character of Jatayu in the film. The post reads, ‘Veteran actor Anupam Kher has been confirmed as the voice of Jatayu in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. This announcement puts an end to months of speculation that Amitabh Bachchan will voice the great bird who fights Ravana while trying to save Sita. Jatayu’s fight with Ravana is expected to be one of the most emotionally powerful sequences of the film. Director Nitish Tiwari has reportedly highlighted this scene as a big cinematic moment, in which Anupam Kher’s voice will bring this famous character alive on screen.

Who will be seen in which role?
Ranbir Kapoor has played the role of Lord Ram, the prince of Ayodhya in the film. Sai Pallavi has been selected for the role of Mother Sita. Ram’s journey to Lanka begins with Ravana kidnapping his character, but this role goes much beyond that incident. Sita is also central to the story’s examination of courage, duty, sacrifice and honor. Ravi Dubey has played the role of Laxman, who is Ram’s younger brother and lives with him and Sita during their exile. Adinath Kothare is playing the role of Bharat, while Nitish Sharma is playing the role of Shatrughan, who completes the four princes of Ayodhya.
